This past week has been busy, and exhausting mentally and physically.
Our lease is coming up for renewal, and they always raise it. Usually we can get them to lower the increase. Last year they only tried to raise it $40, but this year they want $120 more!! We asked them to lower it, but we haven’t heard back yet. They give us 2 weeks to decide, now the owner is taking his time about lowering it, using a week of our 2 weeks. We still haven’t heard back, and we only have until the end of this week. Rob is stressing about it, and having me call the office daily to ask if they’ve heard from the owner yet. I think he should call, I have enough to remember to do.
I now only work 33 or 34 hours a week at my regular job, it used to be closer to 38. But during the week, I have to print and send all the paperwork to the accountant, and to the payroll company. I also do inventory, and call in the orders. Every other week, I have to unpack and put away our biggest order. I also drain, take apart, clean, put back together, and refill 5 yogurt machines. Last week, I did all of this, and trained 2 new people.
I also do cat sitting for Rover.com. I have made the area that I will cat sit within walking distance. Starting the weekend before this, Friday, I had 2 visits with a cat I regularly visit, and her new roomie, an 11 week old kitten. Saturday, I also did 2 visits. They are about 1/2 mile away, and I walk to the morning visit, and drive to the evening visit. It is a very dark area and I don’t feel comfortable there after nightfall.
Sunday through Friday, I had a new client. There is a cat in her neighborhood that just goes around to all the houses and gets food and love. Apparently on one of her rounds, she found a male cat and got herself in a family way. The cat brought her kittens to this couple’s backyard and they took care of her and the kittens. They had plans to go out of town for the week of Thanksgiving, and asked me (through the Rover app) to come over twice daily to take care of mama and babies. We had 2 or 3 days of constant rain, so I drove over a few times, walked over most, started walking back & called hubby to pick me up because the wind was causing problems with my plan to walk in the rain. For the most part I walked over and back, so I got a ton of walking done.
Friday I also had the regular cat to visit in the evening, twice on Saturday, and once Sunday morning.
Saturday, a friend of mine asked me to take his golden retriever for a few hours while he watched his football game on Sunday. No worries, I love his dog!! After my Saturday morning visit with the cats, I walked over to my friend’s building to get his dog. I couldn’t find the entrance to his building!! Then when I finally made it, I came down the elevator with the dog, and when we got out of the elevator, he wouldn’t leave the building. He was looking for his dad. Trying to get this dog to take a walk was nearly impossible. He would sit down and not budge an inch. I would walk to the end of the leash and sit my butt down and wait for him to come to me. 45 minutes later, we made it around the building and started going away from it. Nope, not any easier, it took us almost 2 hours to go 1/2 mile. I knew it would be much faster on the way home, so I couldn’t start back for an hour. I went to my workplace and the dog got lots of attention until it was time to head back. 10 minutes to get back. I love this dog, but he tried my patience.
I get home, and hubby wanted to go for a walk. I’ve been walking all day, but I went with him. It was a nice walk, but I was so tired. It was a long, and exhausting week and I just wanted to let my feet and brain rest for a bit. He made us a pizza, and while I was eating it, it seemed to get stuck between my teeth. That was just weird. I know I put oregano flakes on it, but I shouldn’t be able to feel them on my teeth and between them. I looked in the mirror and the crown on my front tooth had cracked. Damn, one more thing this week. Going to have to go to the dentist again. Sat down to finish my pizza and every time I bit into it, I felt the crown shift. Went to brush my teeth after finishing the pizza and part of the crown came off. Fortunately the root was still covered, but I now had a big gap between my front teeth. We had a repair kit in the house, so I used it to re-attach the piece. Looks bad, but better than a gap. I’m no Michael Strahan, he rocks his gap, but it doesn’t suit me.
Calling the dentist tomorrow to see if they can fit me in somewhere. No biting into food until I get it fixed. I am training again on Monday and Tuesday morning, so I need to figure out how to work this out.
What a week!!!
