I had so many problems getting this started that I almost gave up. I persevered, but it gave me many, many headaches.
I got the pieces cut out. Realized I needed to do re-cut one of them because I cut it on the wrong side of the material. Good thing I bought the whole bolt of fabric!
Started reading the directions. Followed the directions. Made no sense, but I followed them. I swear it told me to sew the pieces together at the collar, and the picture shows them being sewn along the collar. Now how am I supposed to get that on? I finally laid the pieces out to where they made sense to me, and sewed them together. It worked fine.
I decided to go ahead & try making the hood, and after a lot of grumbling at the pattern and taking out the stitches, I finally got the hood made and attached.
It was raining all day, so I didn’t want to take a picture out there & the only place I could hang it had the sun right behind it. Sorry you can’t see it as well as I’d hoped.
Mental note: practice photography
I’m very proud of myself for getting this made and that it seems to be done fairly well. I plan to go back and reinforce the first seams I sewed, but otherwise, I think I’m done! Maybe I’ll try to make some gloves 🙂
