I’m getting ready for another mudrun. I am doing the Muddy Dash in October. I signed up 3 months ago, and last month I got 2 emails about picking up my packet. Looks like I signed up right after the last one 🙁 I gave the other one to Jonathon I. I was talking about it at the Capital One Cafe across the street and one of the banking people signed up, too. He thinks it’s going to be a blast!
I started doing P90X after I signed up 3 months ago. I’ve been mostly sticking to it. I’m on the third month, and not missed more than 10 workouts, so I feel pretty good. Actually, I feel good about it, I feel stronger. I haven’t lost any weight doing it, but I have gotten stronger. My right shoulder that I have a tendency to hurt, then not use anymore so it freezes, feels stronger. I still get twinges, but I can know that I am able to move it more before I get the twinge.
I had to start using knee braces. I haven’t been able to do decent, or even half-decent, squats in years. My knees get sharp pains just above the kneecap when I get too far down. Too far is not very far. I definitely can’t get to 90 degrees 🙁 I can do somewhat better with the braces on, but it still isn’t that great 🙁
I think I’m going to get the knees and a few other things checked out in the new year.
I’ll let you know how the mudrun goes 🙂
