I woke up on New Year’s Day feeling great! I didn’t have a headache, I wasn’t stuffy, I wasn’t dragging, it was wonderful. I got out of bed, got some things accomplished around the house before I went to work and felt great. I’m not usually able to get much done before work because I can’t get moving or motivated, but I did that day. Unfortunately I got to work and had to do all the things that the closing crew forgot? to do the night before. Kind of killed the good mood 🙁
Lots of stuff going on. My friend is here from Boston, but is having a terrible time with the place she is subletting. She is going to leave at the end of this month instead of staying for 2 more months. 🙁 My friends that moved to New York last year are back for the winter and I get to see them this weekend!
We found out this past weekend that my father-in-law passed away in October. Yes, this is January and he passed in October. I always knew that my sister-in-law hated her older brother, but until this happened, I had no idea how much. She did send a notice through the mail about her father passing. Somehow, she forgot that we moved to Florida 7 years ago and sent the notice to our previous address…a mile from her house. This is a challenging time for us.
Work is ok, we finally have someone to clean the machines, so I don’t have to do it anymore!!! YAY!!! I still do all the other things, and that has been challenging in itself. Our primary supplier receives our order on Wednesday for delivery the next Tuesday. With the holidays, I had to place the order and get it 3 weeks later. Well, guess what? We ran out of stuff. We were busier than ever with some record-breaking days over the last 2 weeks, so I didn’t have enough on hand. Between our 2 other suppliers I managed to keep us stocked, just not with all the preferred things. When we did get the supplies that I ordered 3 weeks before I said oh, no, we need a lot more than this! I had ordered based on getting delivery much sooner. You know, like before we ran out of everything. So, I placed another order Wednesday for delivery on Tuesday, and there is a busy weekend between the 2. An Art Fair where they close down the street to cars and have tents down the center for 2 days. A very busy weekend. And I’ll probably run out of stuff because I didn’t order enough 3 weeks ago. Frustrating!!!
On the brighter side of life, I now have 6 of my credit cards/lines of credit paid off and only have 5 to go. My payments are down to around 300/month, and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. After paying those and rent, I can pay extra more on a card and between that, tips, Rover, bonuses for working overtime, and my crafts, I will get another paid off in 2 months, and another 2-3 months after that. Those 2 paid will bring my payments down to 200/month. It is very exciting to be this close to being debt free!!
I’m still doing crafting and trying to get some on Etsy. I have 2 more pins finished, I just have to put on the backings. I ran out of my contact cement that I use, and ordered more. It finally got here today. I had a lot of trouble getting it open and joked that they must have used my stuff to seal the package. Apparently, they really did. The screw-on lid had come off and leaked all over the package.
I am doing my best not to let the irritating things overwhelm me and focus on the good instead.
