Well, another month come and gone. It is now October and I have a few things going on. I have the Muddy Dash on Saturday, then next weekend is the Art Fair at work. That Sunday I also have a memorial service to go to. A friend of mine passed away in June and the other residents of the building he lived in bought him a memorial brick on the Riverwalk. They have invited his friends and family to join them on Sunday.
October means Halloween!! I love dressing up for it. This year I am going to be a 1950s housewife. The hardest part is going to be my hair. I have colorful hair, all purples and blues, but that isn’t my problem. My problem is that it hangs down to my waist. I’m having trouble finding a hairstyle that suits the costume. All the advertisement pictures from the era make it seem that every housewife had short hair. I’m sure some didn’t but I can’t find pictures. I’m now looking for a way to put it in a bun. I have made the ubiquitous pearls, and I’ll try to make the handbag. I’ll keep you updated.
I had to take the SafeStaff Manager test last week. It is still a physical test, and the instructor/proctor dropped them all off at UPS on her way home from the testing site. They were received yesterday, and logged in at 1pm today, but not graded yet. The next step is scanning and verification. Waiting on that.
Work is gradually getting busier, but is still slow. Last Wednesday I decorated the store for fall, I really like the effect.
I’ve been working on the baby outfits that I plan to put up for sale at the local craft fair. I finished the bonnet, and am working on the sacque. I still need to add ribbons to the bonnet, but I’m making progress.
